50 kilometer Ultra (31.4 miles)
50-km ultras have a new course this year, starting near the Carbon River entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park
and running out to Buckley before descending across four beautiful bridges along "The Loop" to So. Prairie and
finishing at Orting's town park. This is a big change from previous years when this event started in So. Prairie
and ended on Ruston Way after running through Fife and Tacoma. Now runners will be treated to much more forest
and undeveloped trail. The new course uses the paved Foothills Trail to the extent possible (33%) and roads (32%),
sidewalks (0%) and rough trails (35%) when not.
Be sure to read the Course Manual
(look for the 2012 update in 1st quarter 2012) to find out about packet pickup, drop bags, driving times, etc.
Early Packet Pickup is Available
When:

at the starting areas. Please register for the shuttle at the time of registration. If you have
