2012 Event Information

Relay and 50 mile Ultra (50.8 miles)
Relay teams and 50-mile ultras start near the Carbon River entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park and finish at Marine Park on Tacoma's Ruston Way. The course passes through deep forests, alongside rushing rivers and streams and through historic towns. It uses the paved Foothills Trail to the extent possible (40%) and roads (15%), sidewalks (11%) and rough trails (34%) when not.

Be sure to read the Course Manual (look for the 2012 update in 1st quarter 2012) to find out about packet pickup, drop bags, driving times, etc.

Race Start and Check-In is located at the Tacoma Mountaineers' Parking Lot about 1/2 mile from the Carbon River entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park.

A free shuttle service will be provided for all solo runners and walkers (not relay runners) who want to leave their vehicle at the finish areas at Orting or Ruston Way. Buses will take participants to their starts at Buckley or Rainier. This is highly encouraged to minimize traffic congestion at the starting areas.  Please register for the shuttle at the time of registration. No vehicles 80" or wider, or longer than 20'. No motor homes, buses or limos are allowed on the course by any team or team support.
