In 2013 the Buckley to Orting (B&O) Half Marathon was separated from the Rainier to Ruston Rail-Trail Relay and Ultra. Since then the race has its own day, the fourth Saturday of July, Pierce County Trails Day.

Again in 2017 the race will not start in Buckley as it has in the past. The trail will be closed due to construction that will be occurring on the unpaved portion of the Foothills Trail from the parking area just south of Buckley to the private road at 268th Ave Ct. E.  In order to avoid this construction while keeping this a trail race, we have decided to make this years course an out-and-back from Orting.  Next year in 2018 the race will again go from Buckley to Orting on the brand new trail.

There will be 3 aid stations with GU gels and GU brew lemon lime electrolyte drink. This puts the aid stations at about 3 miles apart. Feel free to carry a small water bottle and fill it at each aid station.

It's a flat and FAST out and back course along the paved trail. What a fun way to high five some running buddies while knocking out a half marathon! We look forward to seeing you soon.

All runners receive a custom finisher medal and tech shirt (shirts guranteed if registered by July 6).
